Menopause Support
Minding MyHealth offers psychotherapy and hypnotherapy support throughout the different transitions of Menopause from Peri, Meno and Post menopause. Each stage has its challenges and understanding of these life transitions and I offer empathic, practical approaches and ways of living through these menopausal changes from flashes, to night sweats, anxiety, loss of body confidence and insomnia.

Kate holds specialist qualifications in menopause therapy through Helen Breward's Menopause Core Relief and Advanced Menopause Programs.
Menopause and Therapy
Menopause marks the end of menstrual cycles and fertility, typically occurring between ages 45 and 55. It happens because the ovaries gradually produce less estrogen and progesterone, hormones that regulate your cycle and affect many body systems. This hormonal shift can cause a variety of symptoms, some mild and others more challenging.
Common symptoms include:
-
Hot flashes and night sweats
-
Low Mood
-
Anxiety
-
Sleep disturbances
-
Memory lapses or difficulty concentrating
-
Weight gain or changes in metabolism
-
Changes in libido
-
Loss of confidence in self and body
These symptoms vary widely from person to person. Some women experience only a few mild changes, while others face more intense physical and emotional effects. Understanding what’s happening inside your body can help reduce anxiety and self-doubt. It’s important to remember that menopause is a natural process, not a disease.
Why Therapy for Menopause
You may be experiencing menopause at a younger age than you thought and want to know how to manage the symptoms and get on with your day to day life. Or you may be in menopause experiencing many symptoms on top of working, have children and a family or looking after elderly parents and you may be by yourself.
Knowing what I know now I would have gone to see someone to talk about my experiences such as:
-
How do I manage and cope with the lack of sleep due to sweats and anxiety?
-
Why do I feel as if my get up and go has got up and left!
-
Why is my mood so low I cannot seem to get excited about much any more?
-
How do I cope with hot flashes at work and functions?
-
I seem to have lost confidence in my self and my body and I want it back!
-
I dont' want to talk to other people about this in case they think I'm older....
-
Intimacy has gone out the window as I feel hot and anxious and it makes me uncomfortable
-
How do I talk to my friends, my colleagues at work and my partner?
How can I help you?
How can you help me support the emotional changes from menopause?
-
We will discuss how menopause has changed your life - what do you want to change the most at the moment? We will discuss how menopause can stir up a lot of emotions, anxiety, self-doubt, and mood swings and its ok feel vulnerable and unsure of how you can manage.
-
We will look at ways to nurture your emotional health and look at a healthy balanced approach to living through menopause and feeling more capable, relaxed and confident in yourself again.
